airPLAST is a premixed lime-based plaster, and it contains no cement and can be used for heritage restoration projects or hempcrete construction. It has been formulated to assure consistency and performance on-site by adding water.
How do you apply airPLAST to heritage walls? After cleaning the old plaster and dusting off the bricks, you slush water onto the walls with a brush. Leave that to dry, and you can mix 1 part air lime with 4 parts water and slush this lime water mix onto the bricks with a brush. Leave this to dry, and you can mix the airPLAST with water to form a perfect consistency plaster and apply this with a trowel. Make sure the plaster is not too wet or too dry; see the consistency in the video. After the first layer, you can level this out, scratch the uneven bits, and fill with more plaster until the plastering is level.
Then you can float the walls with a timber trowel and finish it with a steel trowel. Let it dry for a few days, and then finely spray water over the walls to help with the setting.
