Technical Details.

Surface Compatibility: Recommended for exterior surfaces. Not suitable for bathrooms or high-washability areas.
Packaging: 1L, 5L, and 20L containers.
Colour Options: Standard shades available (see Earthcote Sand Paint colour card). Custom tinting available using eco-friendly, Zero VOC, Glycol-Free, APEO-Free, and Formaldehyde-Free stainers.

What are the application guidelines for Sand Paint?

Preparation.
Ensure all surfaces are clean, sound and properly primed. For detailed guidance, consult Midas Paints Paarl store.

Application Process.

1. Apply Midas Masonry Primer evenly by brush or roller. Allow to dry.
2. Apply two coats of Earthcote Sand Paint using a 225mm Polypile roller and 50mm brush for cutting in.
3. For poor or compromised plaster, apply Midas Cemproof Slurry before painting.

What is the coverage & drying times for Sand Paint?

• Midas Masonry Primer: ±7–8m²/L | Drying time: >12 hours.
• Earthcote Sand Paint: ±4–5m²/L | Recoat after 4 hours (weather dependent).

Important Notes.

Do not exceed 48 hours between coats to avoid contamination.
Maintain a wet edge to prevent lap marks.
UV exposure will naturally lighten colours over time.
Batch tinting may result in slight colour variation, order sufficient quantities.
Avoid patch repairs; repaint full panels for consistency.
Ensure proper scaffolding spacing for ease of application.
